One room.
One standard.

LMJ Records is an independent production house. We write beats, track vocals, mix and master — for artists who want a finished record, not a folder of takes.

The story

Built from
the bootleg up.

LMJ Records started with a laptop, a borrowed interface and a habit of finishing other people's songs. Nine years on, the room is bigger but the rule is the same: the record leaves finished.

We work mostly with independent artists — the ones doing their own distribution, their own artwork, their own marketing. That means we care about things the majors don't have to: a mix that survives phone speakers, a master that isn't crushed, a delivery that fits a release date.

Hip-Hop, Trap, Drill, RnB and Dancehall are home, but we take on anything with a vocal in it. If your reference is clear, we can meet it.

How we work

Three rules
in this room.

01 / HONESTY

Notes you can use

If a verse is dragging or a hook isn't landing, we say so — then we suggest the fix. Feedback is part of the service, not an upsell.

02 / RESTRAINT

Nothing louder, just clearer

Loudness is not quality. We aim for a master that holds its dynamics and still competes on a streaming playlist.

03 / DELIVERY

Files on time, every time

A release date is a promise. Masters, stems and alternate versions arrive organised, named and ready to upload.

The room

Warm chain,
clean monitoring.

Tracking is done in a treated booth with a condenser for detail and a dynamic option for artists who perform better on a handheld. Monitoring is honest — no hype curves hiding a muddy low end.

  • Large-diaphragm condenser + broadcast dynamic
  • Class-A preamps, clean conversion
  • Near-field monitoring with sub reference
  • In-the-box production with analogue saturation
  • Stem-ready delivery for your own engineer
  • Backline for live capture on request
  • Hip-Hop · Trap · Drill
  • RnB · Dancehall · Afrobeats
  • Vocal tuning & comping
  • Mixing & mastering
  • Custom beat production
  • EP / album project management

    From the artists.

“I came in with a voice note and left with a record. The mix made my vocal sit exactly where I wanted it — nothing felt buried.”
    Wanjiku M. Vocalist · Nairobi
    ★★★★★
“The drill beats knock, but the part that sold me was the notes. They told me where the verse dragged and fixed it in the arrangement.”
    Trey K. Independent rapper
    ★★★★★
“Sent my stems from the coast, got a master back in two days. It sounds like the songs on my playlist now.”
